My Story So Far...
Born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland where I studied at Hazlehead Academy. During my time at school, I never had a clear idea of what I truly wanted to do in life. Living in Aberdeen we are mostly known for the Oil & Gas Industry, and like many others, I was told to believe that is what I should be aiming for when I finished academy. Personally, for me, I quickly found out that wasn't for me and it didn't reflect who I am and what my passions are. Although looking back I should've followed my instincts, I pushed on and continued to study at College towards an HND in Mechanical Engineering. This is when it really kicked in for me that this was not the field or career meant for me, I made a tough decision on whether I should suck it up and power on or take a step backwards and start fresh in something new.
From this point onwards I learnt what it is like to truly enjoy what you do and be passionate about it. I had always loved to draw as a kid and I had continued this throughout Academy whilst taking Art & Design classes. Unfortunately at the time, I was never aware of or told of many careers in this area. Other than the typical cliché that there is no real money or careers in the arts. Regardless of what I had heard I stayed true to myself and discovered the HND course in Visual Communication, this is where I took my love of art and my raw skills and evolved into a designer with more technical skills and a great foundation of skills in communicating visually. After two great years in which I made many friends and connections, I had grown as a designer and an individual.
I then decided to continue my higher education and attend Robert Gordon's University where I studied for 3 years and achieved my Ba(Hons) in Communication Design. Many people say this, but truly my time studying in this course was some of my greatest years where I developed many great relationships with friends, peers, and staff members on the course. Most importantly to me though my confidence in myself and my skills had massively gained through the years and has honestly made me the person I am today.
Now we reach the present. My partner Vikki and I made the bold and scary move to leave our lives and hometown of Aberdeen behind. We made the decision to transfer to Australia on a working holiday visa. I am now settled in Melbourne, Australia and I am loving every second of it. We both moved out here to follow our passions and find work in what we love to do. I hope you enjoyed my story and hopefully gives some background into who I am. Thank you for reading!

More About Me!
Now that you know my background and how I found my true passion which is design, it's time to know more about who I am as a person. As you already know I am Jack, I am 25 years old and I am currently based in Melbourne, Australia. I am a massive lover of food and enjoy travelling whenever I can! Coming from Aberdeen in Scotland I have always loved my hometown mostly because that is all I have ever truly known. I believe that this is why I love to travel so much, experiencing new cultures is always amazing to me as it always opens my eyes further to what is out there in the world and what is possible if you set your mind to it. I have been lucky enough to travel to Italy, Cincinnati, and Houston. These have been some of my favourites! I went to Italy with my partner Vikki and the history and architecture blew us both away, not to mention the food which speaks for itself! My Mum and Dad spent a few years where they lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, this meant I was lucky enough to travel out a few times and experience the city and all it had to offer. They have such a great food and drink culture over there with the bars and restaurants and it was great fun to go exploring on your own and see what places you could find. My favourite part is always networking and meeting new people, everyone is so interesting and has their own story to tell! I have always found it a blessing to be Scottish as it can open so many conversations with people when they hear your accent. To add to that I love being Scottish and I am proud of where I am from, no matter where you go you will always find a fellow Scotsman and it's a fantastic community of people to be a part of.
Outside of travelling and eating lots of food, and the occasional beer or wine! I spend a lot of my free time when not working keeping up to date with many sports that I follow or playing video games. Often playing video games of the sports that I love to enjoy. Unlike most people from Scotland, strangely enough, I don't have a massive passion for football. Although this doesn't mean that I don't enjoy watching the sport, I just don't have a specific team that I choose to follow. My family do have a deep love for Celtic, considering this I do have a soft spot for them but again I don't follow any team. Being from Aberdeen, supporting Celtic can cause some problems so I tend to keep that one on the down low! The sports that I love to watch the most right now would be the NBA, NFL, and the Formula One. I am a huge basketball fan and have been probably since the first time I ever saw a game when I was a young kid in America, my favourite team has always been the Houston Rockets. I was lucky enough in 2018 to take a trip to Houston and watch my team play when they were at their peak of recent years, I was even lucky enough to meet a few of my favourite plays and as you can imagine I was in awe having never met anyone famous in Scotland! Unfortunately for myself, the fanbase, and the great city of Houston we are currently heavily rebuilding which can take time and sadly a lot of losses at the moment. I am forever hopeful though that we can be back up there in the near future.
